Unit Details

This unit focuses on leading the delivery of AI within an organisation and managing the wider transformation it brings. It equips learners with the skills to ensure AI is implemented responsibly, sustainably, and in alignment with long-term organisational objectives.

Learners will develop the knowledge and skills to:

  • Lead AI-enabled organisational change, aligning delivery with strategic goals and long-term performance
  • Manage workforce and organisational impacts, including reskilling, role redesign and wider ecosystem considerations
  • Implement governance, risk and compliance frameworks, ensuring ethical, legal and secure AI use
  • Monitor AI performance and risks, including bias, draft and security vulnerabilities, while driving continuous improvement
  • Make informed decisions on AI investment, delivery and communication with stakeholders, including non-technical audiences and regulators

Entry Requirements

This unit is designed for senior leaders and decision-makers who are responsible for setting direction and overseeing AI transformation within their organisation.

To enrol, learners must:

  • Be aged 19 or over
  • Be in employment
  • Have employer support for the programme
  • Successfully complete a pre-assessment skills test

 

  

   

Delivery

The unit is delivered over five structured weeks combining strategic leadership with practical application.

Learners will work through real-world scenarios, leadership challenges and applied activities, enabling hem to translate learning directly into organisational practice.

Outcome

By the end of this unit, the leader can:

  • Lead organisational change and workforce impact
  • Manage AI risks (bias, security, system failure)
  • Communicate AI adoption to boards, staff and stakeholders.

The employer will gain an Executive AI Leadership Portfolio with real-world deliverables.

Progression

On completion, learners will be equipped to lead AI transformation at an organisational level, ensuring AI initiatives deliver measurable value while remaining ethical, compliant and sustainable.

This unit forms the final part of a three-unit apprenticeship pathway, bringing together strategy, adoption and delivery. Learners who have completed AU0009: AI Strategy & Opportunities and AU0010: AI Adoption, Procurement & Governance can use this unit to consolidate their learning and fully develop as a leader of AI transformation.

Completion of the full pathway supports progression into:

  • Senior leadership and digital transformation roles
  • Advanced AI, data and innovation programmes
  • Strategic roles focused on organisational change, technology adoption and business improvement
