The Data Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship equips apprentices with the essential knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to effectively manage and utilise data within an organisation. Apprentices will gain expertise in sourcing, collating, presenting, blending, and analysing data, as well as collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making.

This apprenticeship is ideal for organisations across industries such as finance, healthcare, retail, and IT, where data plays a critical role in driving business performance. Apprentices will develop hands-on experience with industry-standard tools, enabling them to handle real-world data challenges, ensure data quality, and contribute to business insights.

Upon completion, apprentices will be prepared for roles such as Data Support Analyst, Data Technician, or Junior Data Analyst, providing organisations with valuable expertise in harnessing data to achieve strategic objectives.

As part of this apprenticeship, the Growth Company will fund the CompTIA Data+ to further support learners in mastering early-career data analytics alongside their level 3 qualification, to support data-driven business decision-making.

Apprenticeship details

The Data Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship prepares apprentices to manage and interpret data to drive insights and support organisational objectives across various industries. Apprentices will gain the expertise to lead projects, manage change, and deliver lasting improvements.

What it covers:

Knowledge

  • Understanding structured data and databases.
  • Mastering tools such as Excel, Python, Power BI, Pivot Tables, and Power Query.
  • Learning techniques for mining, manipulating, and visualising data.
  • Applying basic statistical methods to support data-driven insights.

Skills

  • Sourcing, blending, and analysing data to derive actionable insights.
  • Visualising and reporting data effectively to support organisational objectives.
  • Creating interactive dashboards and reports using advanced tools.

Behaviours

  • Demonstrating a detail-oriented and analytical mindset.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to address business needs.
  • Maintaining professionalism and adaptability in data-focused roles.

Delivery

Our training for this apprenticeship is designed to meet the needs of both apprentices and employers through a blended delivery model.

Entry requirements

Applicants must have minimum GCSE grades A*-C/4-9 in English and maths.

Progression

Upon Successful completion, apprentices can pursue roles such as Data Support Analyst, Data Technician, or Junior Data Analyst, providing essential expertise to organisations in data management and analysis.
