School Business Professionals (SBPs) can operate across various school phases (primary, secondary, special) and within different school structures, such as single academy trusts, multi-academy trusts (MATs), local authority maintained schools, and federations. As a result, they may work in diverse environments and report to different individuals, including the headteacher or School Business Director (SBD).

On successful completion, apprentices will achieve a School Business Professional Level 4 Apprenticeship.
Apprenticeship details
The School Business Professional Level 4 Apprenticeship equips apprentices with the core skills, knowledge, and behaviours required for a range of professions including School Business Manager, HR Manager, Finance Manager, Office Manager, School Administrator, Business Support Officer, Bursar, and more.

Delivery
Our Skills Development Tutors will visit apprentices on-site or remotely, working with them to meet employer’s specific needs and expectations.
Entry requirements
Applicants must hold a minimum of Level 2 in maths and English or equivalent. Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to completion of their apprenticeship.
Progression
Upon successfully completing the apprenticeship, candidates will qualify for Full Membership status with the Institute of School Business Leadership (ISBL), previously known as the National Association of School Business Management.
