Children, Young People and Families Practitioner, Level 4 Apprenticeship

Apprentices will demonstrate a passion to care for and about children, young people and families. and become skilled in recognising and assessing the complex needs that children, young people and families often present. 

They will work alongside other professionals and organisations to share the responsibility for improving outcomes. Each piece of work with a child or family will be different and the apprentice will exercise judgement on a range of evidence-based approaches to inform their practice.

Qualification

On successful completion, apprentices will achieve a Children, Young People and Families Practitioner, Level 4 Apprenticeship.

Apprenticeship details

The Children, Young People and Families Practitioner, Level 4 Apprenticeship equips apprentices with core skills, knowledge, and behaviours required for a successful career in childcare or social care.

What it covers:

• Knowledge: Understand child development, safeguarding, diversity, and effective communication.
• Skills: Communicate effectively, promote safety and inclusion, and work collaboratively with families and professionals.
• Behaviours: Demonstrate care, compassion, courage, effective communication, competence, and commitment.

Delivery

Our Skills Development Tutors will visit apprentices on-site or remotely, working with them to meet employer’s specific needs and expectations. 

Entry requirements

Ideally, apprentices will hold a minimum of a GCSE grade C/4 in English and maths or equivalent.

If they do not hold a Level 2 English and maths qualification they must achieve these prior to taking the End Point Assessment.

To work in this industry they will need an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Progression

On successful completion, apprentices can progress onto higher-level apprenticeships, or supervisory roles within childcare.
