What it covers:

- Skills: Learn to shape and cut materials, install features like doors, partitions, staircases, and construct structural elements such as roofs and floor joists.
- Behaviours: Develop teamwork, precision, problem-solving, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Apprentices will build expertise in working safely with tools and materials while creating and installing essential building components to industry standards.
Delivery
Apprentices will be required to attend the GM SkillCentre one day per week for their off-the-job training. This will ensure they gain the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to excel in their role, complementing the on-the-job training they’ll receive in the workplace.
Entry requirements
There are no formal grade requirements. However, if apprentices do not already hold a Level 2 qualification in English and maths, they will need to achieve these before completing the end-point assessment.
Progression
On successful completion, apprentices can progress into higher-level apprenticeships. They may also specialise in trades like electrical, plumbing, or carpentry, or pursue further qualifications in construction and property management. This pathway opens doors to supervisory roles and career advancement in the property and maintenance sectors.
