Qualification
On successful completion, apprentices will achieve a Gas Engineering Operative Level 3 Apprenticeship.
Apprenticeship details
Throughout the apprenticeship, apprentices gain the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to safely install, maintain, and service gas systems while adhering to industry standards.
What it covers:
- Induction and Core Skills Training (Stage 1): Focuses on safe working practices, including health and safety in gas utilisation, as well as building services and structures.
- Knowledge Training (Stage 2): This stage includes written or practical assignments and assessments, graded against specific modules or options. Apprentices can choose an optional pathway based on their interests.
- Workplace Training (Stage 3): Involves maintaining a work log of practical activities, skills, and competencies, along with practical observations of work to assess quality and behaviour.
Delivery
Our Skills Development Tutors will visit apprentices on-site, working with them to meet employer’s specific needs and expectations.
Entry requirements
Applicants must have minimum GCSE grades A*-C/4-9 in English and maths.
Progression
If apprentices complete the apprenticeship standard with a pass or a distinction, you will be eligible to apply for membership with the Institution of Gas Engineers & Managers (IGEM) professional registration as an Engineering Technician (EngTech).
