On successful completion, learners will achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Networking and Cybersecurity.
Course details
The Level 3 Diploma in Networking and Cybersecurity comprises the following modules:
- Understanding and maintaining network infrastructure
- Implementing cybersecurity measures
- Installing and configuring computer systems
- Managing and securing IT systems
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
- Principles of ethical hacking and data protection
- Exploring emerging technologies in IT
All units in this qualification are mandatory, and learners must attain at least a pass in each unit to achieve the overall qualification. Achievement of this qualification will be assessed via a combination of knowledge testing, practical assessments, and project work.
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements; however, applicants will need to complete an initial assessment and interview.
Eligibility for funding
This course is fully funded for those based in Greater Manchester or South Yorkshire and meet the below criteria:
Greater Manchester 2024/2025 Funding Rules for Applicant Eligibility:
- Aged 19+ on or before the 31st August 2024
- Live in a Greater Manchester postcode region
- Lived in the UK for the last 3 years
- Can be unemployed but if employed, must earn less than £32,200 annually.
South Yorkshire 2024/2024 Funding Rules for Applicant Eligibility:
- Aged 24+ on or before the 31st August 2024
- Live in a South Yorkshire postcode region (Barnsley, Doncaster, Sheffield or Rotherham)
- Can be unemployed but if employed, must earn less than £30,480 annually.
- Must not hold more than one Level 3 or higher qualification
Progression
After completing the Level 3 Diploma in Networking and Cybersecurity, learners can progress to a variety of career opportunities within the IT industry.
