Functional Skills Level 1 & 2 - Maths and English

This level 1 and 2 qualification helps employees strengthen core English and maths skills, building confidence and accuracy in everyday tasks. Qualification

On successful completion, learners will achieve a Functional Skills qualification in English and/or Maths up to Level 2.

Course Details

The Functional Skills course is designed to help learners develop practical English and maths skills that are essential for everyday life and work. These qualifications improve confidence and capability in key areas such as:

• English: Enhance reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to improve communication in the workplace and beyond.
• Maths: Build numeracy skills for problem-solving, data handling and everyday calculations, supporting better decision-making and accuracy.

Learners will gain the ability to apply these skills in real-world situations, making them more effective in their roles and opening doors to further training or career progression.

• Duration: 17 weeks
• Format: 2 hours per week, online

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
Learners must:

• Be aged 19+
• Live in a Greater Manchester postcode region
• Can have previously achieved a GCSE grade A*- C / Grade 4, but when reassessed, have a skill level below Grade 4

Eligibility for Funding

This course is fully funded for Greater Manchester residents aged 19+ who meet the criteria above.
